My project has a few very important components that make it unique and user friendly. Find more information on how this project works below.

Ultrasonic Sensor 1 &2

For the two sensors located towards the middle of the cane I used this ultrasonic sensor because it runs on 5 volts and is inexpensive to purchase.

For the one sensor located towards the bottom of the cane I used this ultrasonic sensor because it can run on 5 volts and instead of having a separate transmitter and receiver, they are combined. This is necessary because since it is located on the narrow part of the cane, size is an important factor.

Arduino Nano

This is the microprocessor I chose to use because it is affordable and smaller than other microprocessors available. It also runs on 5 volts which is what my sensors run at.

Crimped Wire Connections

I needed a way to attach the sensors to the main printed circuit board and so I decided to use this crimped wire style connector. This will make the overall design more aesthetically pleasing as well as making it user friendly.
